Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses abnormal immune reactions by acting on interleukin-2 receptor and promotes renal engraftment after transplantation.
It is usually used to suppress the acute rejection after renal transplantation.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If your body weight is less than 40 kg.
  • If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, inject intravenously a total of 2 times, within 2 hours prior to transplant surgery and 4 days after transplantation.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • While taking this medicine, your immune response may be suppressed. To prevent infections, wash your hands and gargle frequently, and maintain your oral hygiene.
  • Consult with your doctor or pharmacist when you receive a vaccination.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include cytomegalus virus infection, nasopharyngitis, headache, sore throat, cough, nasal discharge, increased sputum, diarrhea, itch, rash, fever, chill, chest pain and hypertension/increased blood pressure. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • rash, respiratory distress, hypotension [acute hypersensitivity reaction]
  • fever, cold-like symptoms, general malaise [infections]
  • disturbance of consciousness, decreased attention, impaired judgment, paralysis in limbs [progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy]
  • decreased urine output, general edema [BK virus nephropathy]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
