Effects of this medicine

This medicine is degraded by intestinal bacteria to produce organic acid which suppresses ammonium production/absorption in intestine to lower blood ammonia level. It also promotes intestinal movement by osmotic effects in lower digestive tract to promote defecation.
It is usually used to treat psychoneurotic disorder, tremor of fingers and electroencephalographic abnormalities associated with hyperammonemia. It is also used to promote the passage of gas/defecation after gynecologic or obstetric surgery.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines. If you have galactosemia or diabetes mellitus.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • For hyperammonemia : In general, for adults, take 3 to 6 cups (19.5 to 39.0 g of the active ingredient) in 3 divided doses a day.
    For promotion of the passage of gas/defecation after gynecologic or obstetric surgery : In general, for adults, take 3 to 6 cups (19.5 to 39.0 g of the active ingredient) in 2 divided doses a day in the morning and evening.
    In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to the age/symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose when you remember. However, wait at least 4 hours to take the next dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • As this medicine contains natural ingredients, the color of jelly may sometimes look dark, depending on the product. However, this does not affect the medical efficacy or the safety of the product.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include diahhrea. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
