Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses the growth of cancer cells.
It is usually used to treat a wide range of cancers such as brain cancer, digestive cancer, lung cancer, malignant lymphoma and chronic leukemia.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have : myelosuppression, liver or kidney disease, infections, varicella or bleeding tendency.
    If a patient is low-birth weight baby.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, repeat the pattern of injecting intravenously or intra-arterially once a day and then withholding the injection for 4 to 6 weeks. Alternatively, repeat the pattern of injecting once daily every other week, repeated 2 to 3 times, and then withholding injections for 4 to 6 weeks, several times.
  • The treatment duration is determined according to the effect of the medicine.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include vomiting, loss of appetite and nausea. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • anemia, fever, bleeding tendency (nasal bleeding, gum bleeding, subcutaneous bleeding, etc.) [bone marrow suppression, pancytopenia]
  • fever, dry cough, respiratory distress, headache, general malaise [interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis]
