Effects of this medicine

This medicine acts on sympathetic nerves and, in local application, constricts peripheral vessels to exert hemostasis effects. It suppresses hyperemia/swelling of nasal mucosa. It also exerts relaxant effects on bronchial muscles, dilates bronchi, increases respiratory volume, and prolongs the action of local anesthetic.
It is usually used for remission of bronchial spasm associated with bronchial asthma or whooping cough, prolongation of action of local anesthetics (limited to surface anesthesia of mucosal surface), local hemorrhage in operation, external wound and ear, nose and throat.
