Effects of this medicine

This medicine disinfects bacteria, fungi and viruses in the throat and mouth by iodine which is contained in it.
It is usually used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis and stomatitis and prevent infection in the oral cavity damage including tooth extraction wound, and for disnfection of oral cavity.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, gargle with the medicine diluted 15 to 30 times (2 to 4 mL of this medicine with about 60 mL of water) when you use, several times a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Use this medicine only for gargling. Do not drink.
  • Dilute this medicine everytime you use. After diluting, use as soon as possible.
  • In case in use after tooth extraction, avoid vigorous mouthwash as it may delay blood coagulation.
  • Be aware not to let the medicine get in your eyes. If this medicine accidentally gets into your eyes, wash your eyes with water adequately.
  • If you miss a dose, gargle as soon as you remember. You should never use two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally use more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • When this medicine stained your clothes, it wash off with water easily. Also it can be decolorized with sodium thiosulfate solution.
  • Artificial tooth (denture) containing silver may be colored.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, oral/pharyngeal irritation and nausea. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
