Effects of this medicine

This medicine is enteral nutrition product which contains balanced nutrition such as protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamin and mineral. For efficient intake, its concentration is adjusted to 1.2 kcal/mL.
It is usually used for postoperative nutrient retention. Especially, it is used for nutritional support by tube for patients who are not able to take foods orally over a long period.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have allergy to cow's milk protein, ileus (intestinal obstruction), significantly-impaired intestinal function, intestinal transit/absorption defect, liver/kidney dysfunction, disorder of sugar metabolism such as severe diabetes mellitus or disorder of amino acid metabolism due to innate particular enzyme malfunction.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or wishing to become pregnant.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, administer 1,000 to 1,667 mL (1,200 to 2,000 kcal) per day by tube as standard dosage. Administer at a rate of 62.5 to 104 mL/hour (75 to 125 kcal/hour) continuously or in several divided doses. However, initial dosage is 333 mL (4,000 kcal) per day, administered at a slow speed (approximately 41.7 mL/hour [50 kcal/hour]). Therefore, it may be gradually increased to the standard dosage according to your symptoms. For oral administration, take once or in several divided doses a day. It is adjusted according to your age, body weight or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Shake well before opening.
  • If you are taking it orally in several divided doses, pour into a glass. Seal the remainder in the can using plastic wrap, etc. and store in the refrigerator. This preparation is known to be preservable in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. However, at home, take it within 24 hours after opening and discard the remainder.
  • If you drank directly from the can or used a straw, discard the remainder to prevent microbiological contamination.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include diarrhea, constipation, abdominal bloating or abdominal pain. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight or high temperature exceeding room temperature. Do not freeze.
  • After opening, store away from direct sunlight and take it as soon as possible to slow the progression of microbiological contamination.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
