Effects of this medicine

This medicine is a benzodiazepine that tranquilizes the mind, relieves anxiety or tension, and alleviates depression.
It is usually used to treat physical symptoms in psychsomatic disorders (gastroduodenal ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome, autonomic imbalance), anxiety, stress, depression and sleep disorder.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: acute angle-closure glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, heart/liver/renal/respiratory disorder (respiratory failure), organic disorder in the brain.
    If you are unable to take enough meal/nutrition.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (0.4 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. When higher dosage is required, the dosage should be gradually increased up to the maximum daily dose of 6 tablets (2.4 mg) in 3 or 4 divided doses. For elderly, start with 1 tablet (0.4 mg) at a time, once or twice a day and the dosage may be increased up to the maximum daily dose of 3 tablets (1.2 mg). Strictly follow the instructions.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • This medicine may cause drowsiness and decreased concentration/attention. Avoid operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car.
  • Refrain from drinking alcohol during medication, since alclohol may intensify medicinal or medical effects.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include drowsiness, dizziness, malaise, dry mouth, rash, itch and photosensitivity reaction (reddened in the body portion that was exposed with light). If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • (during the discontinuation of medication) convulsive seizure, mild consciousness disorder with illusion or hallucination, trembling of limbs [dependency, withdrawal symptoms]
  • confused consciousness and loss of normal thinking ability, impaired mind, hallucination [stimulative excitement, confusion]
  • shallow and rapid breathing, respiratory distress, breathing difficulty [respiratory depression]
  • itch, hives, glow and flush on the face [anaphylaxis]
  • general malaise, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and white of the eyes [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
