Effects of this medicine

This medicine is a synthetic corticosteroid (steroid hormone) preparation which has various actions to improve inflammation and allergic symptoms, and suppress immunoreaction.
It is usually used to treat various diseases such as immune disease, allergic disease and inflammatory disease. However, it does not cure the cause of the disease itself.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: joint indicating the abnormal mobility, infection, systemic mycosis, peptic ulcer, psychosis, tuberculosis, thrombosis, diabetes, keratitis, cataract, glaucoma, high blood pressure, electrolyte abnormality such as hypokalemia and a history of acute myocardial infarction.
    If you have recently received any surgery to internal organs.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include moon face/ weight gain/ destabilization of the joint by joint cavity injection. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • breathing difficulty, cold sweat, wooziness  [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • fever, cough [induced infection, exacerbation of infection]
  • general malaise, loss of appetite, vomiting [secondary adrenocortical insufficiency]
  • dry mouth, excessive fluid intake, excessive urination [diabetes]
  • pain in the pit of the stomach or tenderness, belching, melena  [peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal perforation]
