Effects of this medicine

This medicine decreases eye pressure and suppresses worsening of eyesight by promoting the outflow of fluid in the eyes (aqueous humor).
It is usually used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have aphakic eye, pseudophakic eye or intraocular inflammation (iritis, uveitis).
    If you wear contact lenses.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, apply 1 drop at a time, once a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Before using, wash your hands well. Pay attention not to let the tip of eye dropper directly touch the surface of your eye when you apply this medicine.
  • After applying, close your eyes and press the inner corner of your eyes with your fingertips for 1 to 5 minutes. Wipe off any excess liquid with a clean tissue, etc. or wash your face.
  • If you need to use other eye drops at the same time, wait more than 5 minutes.
  • If you miss a dose and realize that you have missed a dose by the end of that day, apply 1 drop at a time. However, if you realize on the next day that you have missed a dose, you do not need to apply this medicine twice a day or 2 drops at a time. You should not use two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally use more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • This medicine may temporarily cause foggy vision. Avoid driving a car or operating machinery until the symptom disappears.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include bloodshot eyes, eyelid pigmentation, itching sensation on the eyes, growth of hair in excess of the normal around the eyes, eye discomfort, keratitis, eye discharge, eye pain, corneal erosion, blepharitis, foggy vision, sensation of foreign body in the eyes, dry eyes and deepening of the eyelid sulcus (hollowing of upper eyelid, double-fold eyelid, etc.). If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • color of the pupil (iris) darkens [iris pigmentation]

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Store at room temperature (1 to 30 degrees Celsius). After opening, store in a shading bag and under the conditions mentioned above.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Do not use the solution remaining if 4 weeks have passed since opening.
