Effects of this medicine

This medicine inhibits gastric acid secretion by inhibiting enzyme activity of the proton pump in the gastric mucosa.
It is usually used for the treatment of gastric/duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis, etc.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have liver disorder.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • For gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, anastomotic ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (30 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. The treatment period should not exceed 8 weeks for gastric/anastomotic ulcer or 6 weeks for duodenal ulcer.
    For reflux esophagitis: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (30 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. The treatment period should not exceed 8 weeks. For maintenance therapy of repeatedly recurrent/relapsing reflux esophagitis, take 15 mg at a time, once a day. If the effect is insufficient, the dosage may be increased to 1 tablet (30 mg) at a time, once a day.
    This preparation contains 30 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet. In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
  • This medicine is orally-disintegrating tablet. Use either one of the following two methods to take it.
    (1) Take this medicine with water or lukewarm water like an ordinary tablet.
    (2) Place the tablet on your tongue, crush lightly with your tongue and swallow with saliva. However, do not take this medicine without water while in lying position.
  • If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. However, wait approximately 8 hours before the next dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, itch, erythema multiforme, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, abdomen enlarged feeling, headache, drowsiness, fever and gynecomastia. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • facial pallor/cold sweat, respiratory distress, hives [anaphylaxis, shock]
  • anemia symptoms, fever, nasal/subcutaneous bleeding [pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, granulocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia]
  • general malaise, nausea, yellowing of the skin and the conjunctiva [serious liver dysfunction]
  • fever, mucosal redness/erosion, erythema [toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome]
  • fever, dry cough, respiratory distress [interstitial pneumonia]

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
