Effects of this medicine

This medicine decreases vascular resistance by dilating the systemic vessels and reduces the strain on the heart. It also supplies oxygen and nutrition to the heart by dilating the blood vessel of the heart.
It is usually used for prevention of angina attack (chest pain occurred mainly around the heart). It does not sedate an attack which has already occurred.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have hypotension, glaucoma, head injury, cerebral bleeding, anemia, pulmonary hypertension or heart disease.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, apply 1 piece of tape (27 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, to any site on the chest, lower back or upper arm, once daily. If the effect is insufficient, the dosage may be increased to 2 pieces of tape (54 mg) at a time. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Wipe off the moisture and sweat around application site before applying.
  • Do not apply to areas with wound or disease. Avoid applying the new piece of tape on the same places as the last one.
  • If you miss a dose, apply (or replace) a patch as soon as possible and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never apply two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally apply more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop applying this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Symptoms including headache may occur when just beginning to apply the tape. If this kind of symptom occurs, avoid driving a car, working at heights or operating dangerous machinery.
  • Pay attention that drinking alcohol may intensify effects of the medicine.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include headache and itch/redness/rash on the application site. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
