Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses platelet aggregation produced by thromboxane A2, inhibits phosphodiesterase III activity of the blood platelet and vascular smooth muscle showing antiplatelet/vasodilating action, and consequently improves blood flow.
It is usually used for the improvement of ischemic symptoms such as ulcer, pain, and chilly sensation based on chronic arterial occlusive disease, and prevention of recurrence of cerebral infarction.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
  • If you are bleeding (hemophilia, capillary fragility, hemoptysis, intracranial bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, urinary tract bleeding, vitreous bleeding, etc.).
    If you have congestive heart failure or are scheduled for surgery or tooth extraction.
  • If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (100 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, twice a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Soften the tablet with saliva, and crush it lightly with the tongue and swallow the tablet with saliva. You can also take it with a glass of water as you do to take other tablets.
  • Do not take this medicine when you are lying down.
  • If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Avoid taking grapefruit juice with this medicine, since it may intensify the therapeutic effects of this medicine.
  • In case of bleeding, blood may not clot quickly under medication. If bleeding time is prolonged or the injury involves a large area, immediately visit the nearest hospital.
  • If you receive surgery or dental treatment, you must inform the doctor that you are taking this medicine.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include headache/dull headache, tachycardia, abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, dizziness, palpitation, diarrhea, rash, anemia, arrhythmia, eruption, itch, hives, photosensitivity and erythema. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • chest pain, palpitation, shortness of breath [congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, angina, ventricular tachycardia]
  • headache, flu-like symptoms, vomiting of blood/melena [bleeding (intracranial bleeding such as cerebral bleeding, pulmonary bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, nasal bleeding, fundal bleeding, etc.)]
  • sore throat, fever (hyperthermia), nasal bleeding/gum bleeding/subcutaneous bleeding [pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia]
  • fever, dry cough, respiratory distress [interstitial pneumonia]
  • general malaise, nausea, yellowing of the skin and the conjunctiva [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
