Effects of this medicine

This medicine is a corticosteroid, and improves nasal symptoms such as sneeze, running nose, nasal congestion, etc. by suppressing inflammation of the nasal mucosa.
It is usually used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis. It does not take immediate effect.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have infections or systemic mycosis.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, apply 1 spray (50 mcg of the active ingredient) in each nostril at a time, twice a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease or symptoms, however, the maximum daily dose is limited to 8 sprays (400 mcg). Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Before using the medicine, thoroughly read the Instructions for the patients using PHAVI Nasal Solution 50 mcg 28 metered sprays described in the accompanying bag and the instructions provided with the medicine. (The instruction is written only in Japanese.)
  • When using the spray for the first time, shake the atomizer well and press it 10 times firmly. Make sure that the medicine appears in a fine mist, then use it. This procedure is not needed from the second time or after. The medicine can be sprayed about 28 times (for 1 week in general dosage) after this procedure.
  • Shake the atomizer well before using.
  • Never pick the tip of the atomizer with needles, etc. (Damage to the tip may cause the spray not to work.)
  • If you miss a dose, use a dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never use two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally use more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash and edema. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • respiratory distress, generalized flushing, hives [anaphylaxis]

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
