Effects of this medicine

This medicine shows awaking action, general psychotropic action, activator action in the cerebral cortex, and sedation of the brainstem for somnolence diseases such as narcolepsy.
It is usually used in the improvement of sleep attack such as narcolepsy, sleeping tendency, and mental relaxation.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
    If you are a patient with anxiety/catatonia/excitability/restlessness/hallucination/paranoid symptom/obsessive state/hysterical symptom/chorea, liver disorder, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, tachycardia, angina, arteriosclerosis, convulsive diseases such as epilepsy, hypertension, or kidney disorder.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • General dosage regimen: For adults, take 10-100 mg of the active ingredient at a time, twice daily, after breakfast and lunch. This preparation contains 25mg of the active ingredient in a tablet.
    The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms in any case. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.
  • Take a dose as soon as possible when you remember that you missed a dose. However, it is needed to take an interval of at least 4 hours before the next dose. Never take the medicine in the evening or later. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.
  • If you took too much of this medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Since the medicine has awakening property, it should be taken until around noon. If you take it in the evening, maybe you cannot sleep at night.
  • Please pay attention that the medicine may cause drowsiness intensively 15-30 minutes after taking.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: dry mouth, insomnia, gastrointestinal disorder, sweating, palpitation, rash, etc.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • generalized fatigability, nausea, yellowness in skin or conjunctiva  [severe liver disorder]
  • unable to stop taking the medicine; symptoms such as limb tremor/insomnia/anxiety/convulsion/hallucination occur when you stop taking the medicine [drug addiction]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Do not store the remainder and ask your pharmacist how to discard it.
