Effects of this medicine

This medicine acts on the respiratory center in medulla oblongata for decreased respiration and increases respiratory volume. It also elevates bloood pressure by sympathetic excitatory action and further enhances myocardial contractility.
It is usually used to treat respiratory disorder and decreased circulatory function in patients with neonatal asphyxia, shock, hypnotic addiction, drowning, pneumonia, febrile illness and anesthetics.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
