Effects of this medicine

This medicine improves skin symptoms by selectively inhibiting DNA polymerase of herpes viruses which is the cause of illness.
It is usually used to treat herpes zoster and herpes simplex.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, apply or spread appropriate amount to the affected area, 1 to 4 times a day. Strictly follow the instructions. Before applying this cream, wash your hands thoroughly.
  • In case of applying directly: Apply only to the affected area. Do not rub but spread this cream gently. If instructed, cover with gauze and affix with tape.
    In case of using a gauze: Take appropriate amount of cream on the gauze and evenly spread with your fingers. Apply the gauze to the affected area and affix with tape. For re-applying, do not wipe the leftover cream on the affected area and apply new cream directly. When applied to the external genitalia, re-apply the cream after every toilet use.
  • Not for ophthalmic or intraoral use.
  • If you miss a dose, apply a dose as soon as possible when you noticed. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should not apply two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally apply more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop applying this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • This medicine may degrade or damage contraceptive latex rubber products such as condoms. Avoid contact with these products.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include contact dermatitis -like symptoms, stimulation and itch. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
