Effects of this medicine

This medicine lowers intraocular pressure by reducing production of aqueous humor by inhibiting carbonic anhydrase.
It is usually used in the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: renal disorder, liver disorder, corneal problem (decrease in corneal endothelial cell counts etc.)
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, apply 1 drop at a time, twice a day, however, if the effect is insufficient, you may be instructed to apply 1 drop at a time, three times a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Before using, wash your hands with soap and water. Then shake the bottle well and open the cap. Face up and apply the medicine not to touch the tip of eye dropper to any surface of your eye. After instilling, close your eyes for 1 to 5 minutes, pressing gently on the inner corner of the eye with your finger. Wipe off any excess liquid with a clean gauze or tissue. If you need to use other eye drops at the same time, wait more than 10 minutes.
  • Contact lenses may be adsorbed due to the medicine. Therefore, you are wearing contact lenses, remove the contact lenses before applying the medicine, and wait for at least 15 minutes to wear the contact lenses.
  • If you miss a dose, apply a dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should not use two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally use more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Blurred vision may occur temporarily after applying the medicine. Pay attention to driving a car or operating dangerous machinery.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include keratitis, red eyes, eye pain, blurred vision, discomfort in eyes, foreign body sensation in eyes, blepharitis, taste perversion (bitter taste in the mouth following instillation), nausea, fatigue and headache. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (1 to 30℃), away from direct sunlight.
