Effects of this medicine

This medicine acts on the brain, makes it easy to sleep, and relieves anxiety and tension.
It is usually used for the treatment of insomnia, as an anesthetic premedication, to relieve anxiety/tension state, and to regulate sleep in continuous sleep treatment.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have heart/hepatic/renal function disorder, decreased respiratory function, or you have ever been diagnosed with acute intermittent porphyria.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • Insomnia: In general, for adults, take 1 to 2 tablets (50 to 100 mg of the active ingredient) at a time right before bedtime. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age and symptoms.
    Preanesthesia: In general, for adults, take 2 to 4 tablets (100 to 200 mg of the active ingredient) before bedtime on the evening before surgery, and 2 tablets (100 mg of the active ingredient) one to two hours before surgery. It should be adjusted according to the age and symptoms.
    Relief of anxiety and tension: In general, for adults, take 25 to 50 mg of the active ingredient several times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. This preparation contains 10 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet.
    In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
  • (Insomnia) It does not matter if you miss a dose and can sleep. If you cannot sleep, you can take it as soon as you remember if you have more than 5 hours until scheduled wake-up time, considering your next day's schedule. Due to the variation in optimal dosage of this medicine among individuals, take into consideration previous experience of the medicine. (Relief of anxiety and tension) If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Pay attention that drinking alcohol may intensify medicinal effects.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include dizziness, feeling ill, headache, dull headache, discomfort after awakening, and drowsiness. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • fever, red rash with dropsical swelling in the center, bloodshot eyes [Stevens-Johnson syndrome]
  • tremor in the limbs, insomnia and anxiety by discontinuing the medicine [drug dependence]
  • impatience, unable to concentrate, anxiety, insomnia [withdrawal symptoms]

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you dispose of unused medicines, ask the pharmacist and the medical institution how to discard them.
