Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses production of prostaglandin which is involved in inflammation and pain. It consequently reduces inflammation and relieves pain and swelling.
It is usually used for reduction of pain/inflammation such as in chronic rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low back pain, shoulder periarthritis or neck-shoulder-arm syndrome.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: peptic ulcer, blood abnormality, liver disorder, renal disorder, hypertension, cardiac dysfunction and aspirin-induced asthma or its history.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take 1 capsule (37.5 mg of the active ingredients) at a time, twice a day after meal. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • This medicine is sustained release preparation, take it without chewing.
  • Esophagus ulcer may occur when this medicine remains in the esophagus and disperses. Take it with a large amount of water and avoid taking just before bedtime.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • If you experience drowsiness, dizziness or foggy vision, avoid operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include gastric pain, erythema multiform, purpura, itch, photosensitivity, asthma attack, allergic purpura, angioedema (edema of face/eyelid/lip), facial edema, rash and hives. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • chest distress, cold sweat, respiratory distress [shock, anaphylactoid symptoms]
  • facial pallor, pain or tenderness in the pit of the stomach, heartburn [gastrointestinal ulcer accompanied by hemorrhagic shock or intestinal perforation]
  • nasal/gum bleeding, fever, sore throat [aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia]
  • fever, reddening of the eyes, erythema/ blister in broad area [mucocutaneous ocular syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis, erythroderma]
  • decrease of urine output, edema, abdominal bloating [acute renal failure, nephrotic syndromes]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask the pharmacy or medical institution how to discard.
