Effects of this medicine

This medicine has vasodilatory effects on both peripheral and coronary arteries to increase blood flow. These effects improve the transport of both oxygen and nutrition into cardiac cells and reduce systemic vascular resistance, arterial pressure and workload in the heart.
It is usually used for the treatment of angina pectoris, myocardial infarction (excluding the acute phase), and other ischemic heart disease. It is not used for the acute relief of angina pectoris.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
  • If you have hypotension, cardiogenic shock, glaucoma, anemia, head trauma, brain hemorrhage, pulmonary hypertension, cardiomyopathy or hepatic dysfunction.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take one capsule (20 mg as the active ingredient) twice a day, to be adjusted depending on the disease, symptom severity or age. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Take the capsule without any chewing. If you take the crushed capsule by chewing, a headache may occur more likely due to transiently increased blood concentration of the active ingredient.
  • If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible if you remember that you missed a dose 6 hours or over before the next dose. If it is 6 hours or less before the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Pay attention that alcohol may enhance your sensitivity to the vasodilatory effect and cause hypotension.
  • This medicine may impair your attentiveness, concentration and/or reflexes due to adverse reactions such as headache. If you feel these symptoms, do not operate a motor vehicle or machinery.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, dizziness/light headedness, heat sensation, flush, palpitation, headache, dull headache, nausea/ vomiting, gastric distress and upper abdominal pain. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
