Effects of this medicine

This medicine is a non-steroidal analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. It is absorbed through skin applied and shows analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions by suppressing prostaglandin biosynthesis involved in inflammation.
It is usually used for the improvement of swelling and pain caused by low back pain, osteoarthritis shoulder periarthritis, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, peritendinitis, humeral epicondylitis (tennis elbow etc.), muscle pain or external wounds. It is also used to relieve pain of the local joint in rheumatoid arthritis.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: aspirin-induced asthma (including its history), bronchial asthma, a history of photosensitivity, a history of hypersensitivity to tiaprofenic acid, suprofen, fenofibrate, products containing oxybenzone or octocrylene (sunscreen, fragrance, etc.).
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, apply to the affected area once daily. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Avoid applying to injured area, mucous membrane, or area with eczema or rash.
  • If you miss a dose, apply when you remembered that you missed applying. You should not use two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally use more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • This medicine may cause photosensitivity (intense itching on sunlight-exposed area, excessive sunburn due to sunlight exposure, skin pigmentation). Take care not to expose to sunlight by avoiding outdoor activity and shielding the application site from light with colored clothes or supporters while using the medicine whatever the weather. You should also pay attention in the same manner at least 4 weeks after termination of using the medicine.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash on the local area, redness, swelling, itchiness, irritation, blister, erosion, pigmentation, subcutaneous hemorrhage, skin exfoliation, hives, edema of eyelids and facial edema. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • hives, breathing difficulty, facial edema  [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • wheezing, feeling of breathing difficulty  [induction of asthma attack (aspirin-induced asthma)]
  • itch, blister, rash, redness [contact dermatitis]
  • erythema/rash/blister/erosion with intense itching, pigmentation, depigmentation of the skin caused by sunlight exposure  [photosensitivity]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Seal the top of the pack tightly after opening.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
