Effects of this medicine

This medicine is a synthetic corticosteroid (steroid hormone) preparation which has various actions to improve inflammation allergic symptoms, and suppress immunoreaction.
It is usually used to treat various diseases such as immune disease, allergic disease and inflammatory disease.
However, it does not cure the cause of the disease itself.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: joint indicating the abnormal mobility, infection, systemic mycosis, peptic ulcer, psychosis, tuberculosis, thrombosis, diabetes, keratitis, cataract, glaucoma, high blood pressure, electrolyte abnormality such as hypokalemia, a history of acute myocardial infarction or eye disease.
    If you have recently received any surgery to internal organs.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • In general, inject this medicine intravenously or inject by a drip infusion intravenously, intramuscularly, into a joint cavity, tendon sheath, epidural, subcutaneously. This medicine may be used in different way according to the disease.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include moon face/weight gain/destabilization of the joint by joint cavity injection. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • dyspnea, cold sweat, wooziness [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • fever, cough [induced infection, exacerbation of infection]
  • general malaise, loss of appetite, vomiting [secondary adrenocortical insufficiency]
  • thirst, polydipsia, polyuria [diabetes]
  • pain in the pit of the stomach or tenderness, eructation, melena [peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal perforation]
  • severe abdominal pain upper or pain in the lower back, vomiting [pancreatitis]
  • excitability, hallucinations, consciousness decreased state [psychiatric disturbance, depressed state]
  • sudden onset of muscular contraction [cramps]
  • pain in the lower back, prone to pathologic fracture of vertebrae/hip and pain for them [osteoporosis]
  • pain in the hip when standing up or walking, low back pain, gait disturbance [aseptic necrosis (heads of thigh/upper arm bone, etc.)]
  • muscle stiffness, pain, muscle weakness [myopathy]
  • fracture pain and swelling, movement disorders [vertebral compression fractures, pathologic fractures of long bones]
  • severe eye pain, headache, visual field defect [glaucoma]
  • dazzling, foggy vision, reduced visual acuity [posterior capsule cataract]
  • vascular occlusion and vascular insufficiency by such as fibrin or platelet [thromboembolism]
  • breathing difficulty, asthma [asthmatic attack]
