Effects of this medicine

This medicine inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), blocks the synthesis of thromboxane A2, and shows platelet aggregation inhibition, which consequently prevents blood clotting and thrombus formation in blood vessels.
It is usually used to prevent thrombus/embolus formation in angina, myocardial infarction, ischemic cerebrovascular disorder and after coronary artery bypass grafting/percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have peptic ulcer, bleeding tendency, aspirin-induced asthma or a history of it.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take one tablet (100 mg as the active ingredient) at a time, once daily. Dosage may be increased up to 3 tablets (300 mg) at one time depending on the disease or the symptom to be treated. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • As this medicine is an enteric coated tablet, swallow down the medicine without cracking, crunching or grinding unless otherwise instructed.
  • Do not take on an empty stomach.
  • If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Do not take this medicine with alcohol because it may induce or worsen gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include gastrointestinal disorders, hives, rash, edema, anemia, prolonged bleeding time, dizziness, agitation, headache, hyperventilation, malaise, and hypoglycemia. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • facial pallor/cold sweat, breathing difficulty, angioedema (swelling in eyelid/lips/tongue) [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • headache/nausea/vomiting, vomiting of blood/melena (black stools), nasal bleeding [bleeding (intracranial bleeding such as brain bleeding, lung bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, nose bleeding, fundal bleeding)]
  • fever, skin/mucosal erosion/blister, conjunctival hyperemia [toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucocutaneous-ocular syndrome, exfoliative dermatitis]
  • anemia, fever/throat pain, purpura [aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia]
  • breathlessness, whistling breath [asthma attack]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of reach of infants and children, and store in a cool place avoiding moisture, high temperature and direct sunlight.
  • Do not store and discard the leftover medicine.
