Effects of this medicine

By cyclooxygenase (COX-1) inhibition, this drug blocks the synthesis of thromboxane A2 to inhibit platelet aggregation, which consequently prevents blood clotting and vessel clogging.
Usually, this medicine is used to prevent thrombus/embolus formation in angina, myocardial infarction, and cerebral infarction.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: peptic ulcer (gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer), bleeding tendency, blood abnormality, aspirin-induced asthma or history of it.
    If you are within 12 weeks from expected delivery date.
    If you are planning to have a surgery or dental extraction.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take one tablet once daily (100 mg of the active ingredient). However, the daily dose may be increased to 3 tablets (300 mg of the active ingredient) according to your symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • This preparation is designed to dissolve and to be absorbed slowly in the intenstine, in order to lighten possible stomach disorder. Swallow down the medicine without cracking, crunching or grinding unless otherwise instructed. Do not take on an empty stomach.
  • If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Do not take this drug with alcohol because it may induce or worsen gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include gastrointestinal disorders, hives, rash, edema, dizziness, headache, agitation, hyperventilation, malaise, and anemia. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • respiratory distress, swelling of face/tongue/throat, hives [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • headache, nausea/vomiting, haematemesis/melena (black stools) [bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, bleeding in the brain, and etc.]
  • skin or mucosal sores, blister, fever [toxic epidermal necrosis, mucocutaneous and eye symptoms, exfoliative dermatitis]
  • respiratory distress, wheezing [asthma attack]
  • general malaise, yellow coloration of skin or white of the eye, loss of appetite  [hepatic dysfunction, jaundice]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
