Effects of this medicine

This medicine normalizes keratonosis by growth suppressive effect and differentiation inducing effect to epidermal cell.
It is usually used to treat psoriasis vulgaris, ichthyosis group, palmoplantar keratoderma and palmoplantar pustulosis.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have hypercalcemia or risk of it.
    If you are renal hypofunction.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, rub appropriate amount to the affected area, twice a day. The scheduled number of times may be decreased according to the disease or symptoms. The daily dose is up to 10 g (250 mcg of the active ingredient). Strictly follow the instructions.
  • This medicine should be started from a small amount and observed carefully, if you have wide ranged eruption or possibility of increased percutaneous absorption of this medicine caused by decreasing of skin barrier function from high eruption severity.
  • This medicine should not to be used aimlessly if the symptoms do not improve within the 6th week.
  • Not for normal skin, only use on the affected area.
  • Not for use except skin (eyes or mucosa).
  • Pay attention, not to touch wounds etc. with hands with leftover medicine on.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after rubbing.
  • If you miss a dose, rub a dose as soon as possible when you noticed. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should not rub two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally use or take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • Blood calcium level and renal function test should be tested regularly (a time after 2 to 4 weeks, appropriate times after it) in case of using. Receive these tests on your designated date and time.
  • If you have wide ranged eruption, the possibility of increased percutaneous absorption of this medicine caused by decreasing of skin barrier function from high eruption severity, blood calcium level and renal function test should be tested regularly. Receive these tests on your designated date and time.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include itch, dry mouth and back pain. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • dry mouth, malaise, loss of appetite [hypercalcemia]
  • decreased urine output, edema, headache [acute renal failure]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Consult with the pharmacy that you have received your medicine or medical institution about disposal.
