Effects of this medicine

This medicine relaxes the bronchial smooth muscle and dilates the bronchial tubes. Alleviates the breathing difficulty caused by airway obstruction.
It is usually used for treatment of asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rach, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: a history of shock, convulsion or loss of consciousness after taking/being injected with xanthine medication such as theophylline; hepatic dysfunction or epilepsy.
    In case of children, If they have: histories of convulsion/epilepsy; fever.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take 300 to 400 mg powder per day in 3 to 4 divided doses. For children, take 2 to 4 mg powder per kg of body weight at a time, 3 to 4 times a day. The daily dosage may be adjusted depending on the disease, severity of symptoms or age. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • If you miss a dose and have more than 6 hours for the next dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is less than 6 hours for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • There can affect the effectiveness of the medicine by smoking or non-smoking.
  • The St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) containing foods are likely to weaken the effect by promoting the metabolism of drugs, please do not take it in.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, itchiness, headache, insomnia, tremor, palpitation, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, abdominal pain and malaise. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • difficulty in breathing, hives, dizziness, cold sweat [shock, anaphylactic shock]
  • convulsion, loss of consciousness [convulsion, disturbance of consciousness, acute encephalopathy]
  • muscle pain, muscle weakness, reddish brown urine [rhabdomyolysis]
  • chest pain, abdominal pain, black stool, vomiting of blood [gastrointestinal hemorrhage]
  • nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes [hepatic dysfunction, jaundice]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep this medicine out of the reach of children and store away from light, heat and moisture.
  • If you have leftover medicines, dispose of them appropriately and do not keep any unused medicine. Seek advice of your pharmacist or medical institution how to discard them.
