Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses synaptic reflex in the spinal cord to lower activity of gamma-motor neurons, and consequently relieves muscle tension.
It is usually used in the treatment of cerebrovascular disorder, spastic spinal paralysis, and spastic paralysis attributed to other cerebral disorders.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, initially take 0.5 to 1.5 tablets (5to15 mg of the active ingredient) daily, in 1 to 3 divided doses, after meals. Then the daily dose is increased by 0.5 to 1 tablet (5to10 mg) every 2 or 3 days to the standard dose appropriately for the symptoms. The standard daily dose is 3 tablets (30 mg), however, it may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms since response to the medicine differs among patients. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.
    In general, for children, initially take 5 mg of the active ingredient daily, in 1 to 2 divided doses, after meals. Then the daily dose is increased by 5 mg every 2 or 3 days to the standard dose appropriately for the symptoms, however, it may be adjusted according to the symptoms or body weight. The standard daily dose is 5 to 15 mg for children aged 4 to 6 years; 5 to 20 mg for those aged 7 to 11 years; 5 to 25 mg for those aged 12 to 15 years. This preparation contains 10 mg of active ingredient in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
  • If you took too much of the medicine (more than prescribed), check with your doctor/pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor. Visual hallucination, confusion, excited state, and convulsive seizure caused by sudden withdrawal of the medicine in long-term use have been reported.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • The medicine may cause drowsiness. Avoid driving a car or operating dangerous machinery after taking the medicine.Drinking alcohol and medicine together has suppressive effect on central nerves.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include drowsiness, blood pressure decreased, nausea, anorexia, feeling of weakness, lightheadedness, rash, etc. If any of these symptoms occur, check with your doctor/pharmacist:
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • being unable to stop taking a certain substance despite trying to stop it, visual hallucination, confusion  [dependence]
  • impaired consciousness, being unable to think, difficult to breathe  [consciousness disturbed, respiratory depression]

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
