Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses activation of platelet by its antiplatelet action. It also decreases uric protein by its antiplatelet action, and decreasing and depressant action of anion in glomerulus.
By concomitant administration with warfarin, this medicine suppresses blood clotting inside the blood vessels after heart valve replacement.
This medicine decreases protein excretion in the urine due to chronic glomerulonephritis.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicines.
  • If you are already pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • General dosage regimen: usually for adults, one capsule (150mg of dipyridamole) is orally administered twice daily. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease to be treated, the patient's age and severity of symptoms. For decreasing uric protein, it is targeted at 4 weeks after administration, then continuous administration is considered after measurement of uric protein. Follow your doctor's instructions.
  • If you are ordered to take this medicine on regular schedule and you missed a dose, take as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
  • If you took too much of this medicine, check with your doctor/pharmacist immediately.
  • Do not stop your medication without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: headache, nausea, vomiting, heaviness of the head, rash.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • chest pain, a sensation of chest pressure, cold sweat, [aggravation of anginal symptoms]
  • visual disorder, hematemesis, black stools, headache, nausea, [bleeding tendency (hemorrhage of the eye ground, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, etc.)]
  • subcutaneous hemorrhage, gum bleeding, nasal bleeding, [decrease in platelets]
  • sudden attack of breathlessness, wheezing (a whistling noise in breathing), edema in the periphery of the eyes and lips, [hypersensitivity]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from heat, moisture and light.
